Inconjunct-quincunx

Effect of the 150 degree aspect

An inconjunction or quincunx is a 150 degree aspect. Inconjunctions tell us to have to give up on something because there is no balance. Or about losing balance because you lost something. Sometimes inconjunctions represent the ‘but’ in a story. LIke in the match Gemany-Turkye. The Midheaven of the final moment of Germany-Turkye (football match in June 2008) was inconjunct the natal Sun of Ugur Boral, symbolizing lost (although he was the star of the match).

With more inconjunctions and together with more hard transits the inconjunction symbolizes lost, like in the chart of Obama when he lost his grandma. When Barack Obama’s grandma died, Saturn was inconjunct his Ascendant, Uranus was inconjunct Descendant and Pluto was inconjunct the IC. (Saturn and Uranus were 105 and 75 degrees away from the natal Moon in the 4th house, too, BTW, more minor aspects with major impact).

When Saturn and Neptune are involved, too, illnesses are almost inevitable.

The inconjunction is the kind of aspect that requires to be accepted. Sometimes you just have to learn to live with the theme that is reflected by the planets making a 150 degree aspect or to accept the consequences of that specific subject in your life. The effect is always disproportional. Take for example Jupiter inconjunct Uranus. This aspect is tight in the chart of Mrs. Schavio. The theme is ´Thank God, but…´. Jupiter rules her 8th house of life and death, Uranus is in the 4th of endings. Yes, she stayed alive, but…in coma.

Another example of Saturn-Neptune and inconjunction is Mr. Ballesteros. Mr. Ballesteros was taken to hospital. For his condition we see that in the last year, the progressed Midheaven was inconjunct Neptune (placed down under in the chart). Transit Saturn is disposing of the 6th house and about to make an inconjunction with the natal Sun, after being square to Mars (ruler of the Sun). It is easy to see the present pattern of illness(Saturn-Neptune). And the effect of the inconjunction, in the next examples.

MORE EXAMPLES

The transit inconjunction was apparent in the chart of John Travolta when his son died (transit Venus in natal eight house inconjunct ASC), together with squares and semi squares from Neptune (ruler 8th house) and Saturn.

We see transit Uranus inconjunct the Ascendant of Paula Abdul when she found a stalking fan dead in his car, in front of her house. Transit Neptune was inconjunct MC and Jupiter square Ascendant (note that Jupiter+Neptune relates to ‘fans and followers’). Her progressed Sun was inconjunct Jupiter and Jupiter inconjunct progressed Mars. There were 3 inconjunctions at the time for an incident or shock (Uranus), a sad event (Neptune) but it also stopped an unpleasant episode of stalking and that is why Jupiter is involved.

Guillaume Depardieu, son of a famous father (Gerard), born with a ‘calling’ Saturn and an actor like his father, died on a day that the transit Sun was inconjunct Saturn and transit Saturn was inconjunct his Natal Sun. That is a double statement for a bad day and bad health. The inconjunction shows the risk of losing your life. Time of birth is unknown. Father and son Depardieu shared Mercury inconjunct Neptune (the aspect that you see in the chart of Friedman). It may be a good aspect for actors, but in real life it easily leads to miscommunications. Father and son had problems communicating with each other.

Natal Sun is inconjunct Saturn in the charts of Patti Smith and Berti Vogts. She lost a brother and a husband. He lost his parents at age 12. What they share is a serious lost. See ‘Love and astrology/Sharing aspects’ .

The death of Joe Biden’s first wife is reflected by Moon ruler 8th house of life and death inconjunct Neptune, ruler 4th house of endings. It is the narrowest aspect in his chart. It is minor aspect with special impact.

On September 8, 2008 a poll announced that McCain was winning and Obama started losing votes. That was on a day that transit Jupiter was exactly inconjunct the Sun of Obama. He had to let go of the advantage that he had (but not for long:).

Rui Costa ended his career as a sportsman being exhausted. Transit Pluto was inconjunct Mars for losing energy after abusing forces.

Sourav Ganguly had transit Jupiter inconjunct his natal Sun when he had to ‘retire’.

Mitt Romney stopped the race as a candidate for the Republican Party in early February last year with Transit Saturn inconjunct his natal Midheaven and transit Jupiter inconjunct Pluto.

Hugh Hefner’s tightest aspect is Mars inconjunct Pluto, symbolizing no balance (inconjunct) use (Mars) or abuse (Mars) of Pluto-matters like money, power, influence, politics, and potency or sexuality. It seems better to have a natal Mars-Pluto inconjunction, than a transit of Pluto inconjunct Mars.

Casanova had a ‘calling’ Mars quindecile Pluto, opposition Aries Point and inconjunct the ASC: a perfect description of a sexually/aggressively obsessed person without balanced behavior in that matter.

Neptune rules the eight house of Dr. Edgar Mitchell and rises before his Sun. With transit Neptune inconjunct Sun he had a bad press in July 2008, when he told the world that he believes in aliens (who visited earth).

Lately I posted about Mercury-Saturn related to science. In the post about Al Gore I write about Mercury inconjunct Saturn in his chart as reflecting ‘doom theories’, scientific opinions without balance. I can only hope that that is a convenient truth!:)

CONCLUSION

The effect of the inconjunction or quincunx in a chart is similar to the line between the Ascendant and the challenging eight or sixth house, at 150 degrees distance. Inconjunctions refer to losts or giving up and the word for inconjunction is ‘but’…

Quincunxes with Midheaven and their meaning

The quincunx or inconjunct aspect of 150 degrees shows lack of balance, possible loss and exaggeration (something disproportional). There is an article on Astromarkt about the inconjunction (see link). This article is specifically about inconjunctions with the MC (Midheaven).

Inconjuncts or quincunxes with the MC have a special effect on the status, the condition, the career or the ‘name and fame’. Although this doesn’t HAVE to be in a disruptive way, the lack of balance creates a danger. It is up to you how to deal with them.

There are in conjuncts in the natal chart, inconjuncts by transit and progressed inconjuncts. The inconjunct of Progressed Midheaven mirrors an unbalancing development in the career or in the position in the world or family. When it is an inconjunct by transit, the inconjunct shows what happened that influenced the position in the world outside or in the family ranking.

The list of examples of quincunxes of Midheaven with Sun, Moon and planets includes links to my blog Astropost.blogspot.com, so that you can study them.  Of course all these examples are strictly related to the individual  of the example. Like all other aspects the inconjunct should be seen in the light of the natal chart, situation, gender, age, health condition, genes and social status. Also, it takes at least two more aspects to contribute to an important event. If the rest of the transits and progressions are nice and harmonious, that one inconjunct only shows a ‘but…’ (the tiny little irritating minus in a list of positive aspects).

MEANING OF INCONJUNCT MC

Sun inconjunct Midheaven (your lifestyle or health is not in line with your position or condition – risk for health). Every year there are two days with transit Sun inconjunct your Midheaven. Mine are July 11/12 and May 11/12. This year I caught    a sinusitis…

Moon inconjunct Midheaven (your background, needs and habits are not always in line  with your position). Your education or family demands might cause lack of balance in the career or condition. You might feel  too emotional about family matters or  your personal life and career are overly involved. The progressed Moon is inconjunct Midheaven 2 times in 27 years. Transit Moon will be inconjunct your MC 2 times a month. You may not even notice or feel it…

For Mercury inconjunct MC interests or schooling could not be in line with the career or position. The transit is less important, unless your natal Mercury is inconjunct MC. The progressed Mercury-MC inconjunct could refer to loss of interest in your present job.

Venus is for desires, pleasures and love, so an inconjunct with Midheaven wouldn’t make it easy to find a satisfying position or a marriage that matches your status. Transit Venus – MC or the progressed MC – Venus makes wishes come true, but the inconjunct doesn’t give away anything without a loss somewhere, somehow, or without having to give up on something (like a bad habit or a desire or a loved one) or… the position in society. Transit Venus comes back more often and isn’t that important, uness you have Venus inconjunct MC in your natal chart.

As Mars is about energy and drives the career or condition might be an energy drain. This is what I think, with an aching back during the transit of Mars inconjunct my MC.

Saturn 150 Midheaven refers to loss of status. I have examples of that:

1. http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2013/05/saturn-inconjunct-midheaven-and-lost.html This article on Astropost.blogspot.com gives a recent example.

2. Natal Sun inconjunct MC and Saturn inconjunct MC for the royal beheaded couple Louis and Marie-Antoinette:http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2013/05/the-astrology-of-marie-antoinette-and.html They lost status, position and life.

Astrologer Margareth Hone died with Progressed Sun inconjunct Progressed MC and transit Neptune – ruler 8th house of life and death – square Ascendant: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2012/10/margareth-hone-libra-astrologer.html

Somehow MC inconjunct Uranus disqualifies or makes you an outsider by alienation. Even in football ( http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2012/06/living-with-astrology-and-ec-2012.html ) Quote:

” …at the final moment transit Midheaven was inconjunct Uranus. Inconjunctions don’t promise a victory. They are about loss and losing balance (see Astromarkt). A surprising (Uranus) loss (in conjunct) as a result (MC): disqualified.”

Salman Rushdie has a natal Uranus inconjunct Midheaven and he suddenly lost his status and position. Also he couldn’t return to his homeland.

Transit Uranus inconjunct MC in Jesse Jackson’s chart when he forgot about the microphone. I write about that in the Astropost on changingn times.

Golf star Mr. Ballesteros had Progressed MC inconjunct Neptune with Transit Saturn inconjunct Sun when he was taken to hospital. He didn’t die then (in 2008), first he recovered. But the inconjunct with Neptune weakens the condition and the inconjunct Sun-Saturn is a step back in health and life style. http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2008/10/being-ill-and-chart-progressions-and.html

The MC inconjunct Jupiter might refer to a bit too much of success (and not knowing how to deal with it) or  to being ‘lucky’ (but with a loss involved). When Richard Nixon had to resign, he had one benificial aspect: transit Jupiter inconjunct Midheaven. He was not prosecuted (but… lost his position). Jupiter quincunx MC CAN be the indication of disproportional success and ditto assistance and help: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2013/01/richard-nixons-accurate-chart.html

With transit Pluto inconjunct MC and other indications (!!!) like progressed Midheaven quincunx natal Jupiter Don Johnson had extreme and unbalancing success with Miami Vice: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2013/03/don-johnsons-chart-and-life-venus.html The Jupiter-Pluto combination is a successful one (see: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/05/jupiterpluto-midpoint-and-aspect.html ). The inconjuncts make it disproportional.

Chiron inconjunct Midheaven was just one of the transits and progressions during the accident of Prince Friso. His Pluto and Neptune were inconjunct the moment’s MC and Ascendant, too, and there were Mars-Uranus afflictions. See http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2012/02/accident-and-chart-of-prince-friso.html

One of the aspects around the coronation of Queen Beatrix was Progressed Pholus inconjunct Progressed MC (an unbalancing turning point in her status and career, involving a loss of position). She moved out of her beloved Drakensteijn to The Hague. When she abdicated Pholus was back:

  •  transit Pholus square Progressed MC and
  • transit Pholus inconjunct Progressed Ascendant

She returns to Drakensteijn. http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2012/01/pholus-and-saturn-when-you-retire.html

HOW TO DEAL WITH TRANSIT INCONJUNCTIONS?

The transit inconjunct alert: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2012/02/transit-150-degree-aspect-alert.html doesn’t give a recipe. Maybe the best way to deal with it is to remain as stable as possible, just like the men in the picture above…
